AGM Saturday 22nd October

Notice of Annual General Meeting
To be held at Silverton Community Hall, Wyndham Road, Silverton EX5 4JZ on
Saturday 22nd October 2022

10:15 am   Coffee, tea and cakes

11.00 am   Annual General Meeting

At close of business there will be two talks on historic aspects of Silverton: one by Peter Smith and one by Jo Cox.
A buffet lunch will then be available to those who book in advance at the Lamb Inn at a cost of £7.50. Lunch can be paid for in advance by cheque or on the day by cash or cheque – regrettably we cannot at present take card payments or BACS. If lunch has been booked then it must be paid for even if you are unable to come on the day. Please book your lunch via the slip at least seven days in advance to give the pub enough time to prepare it.   If the weather is not good the hall will be available for those who have brought their own sandwiches.

After lunch we will reassemble at the Parish Church where most excitingly 16th century panelled timber ceilings have lately been revealed by the removal of later plaster ceilings beneath them. It is hoped that Hugh Harrison we be able to be there to tell us about this discovery and the conservation challenges it presents. We will then be taken around the village to look at its buildings of interest.

RSVP by emailing Peter Child

The meeting is free to members. Guests may attend at a fee of £10.00 each.
